Strange patterns emerge. Hikers and curious adventurers often return with fragmented memories and sometimes inexplicable injuries. One ominous incident involved an experienced hiker who recorded an audio clip of war cries echoing at midnight and subsequently went missing for 48 hours. When he reappeared, he had no recollection of the event.

Drawn by the allure of this mystery, investigative journalist Kim Mina travels to Hwacheon. She prepares with a digital recorder and a map marking the locations of past incidents, embarking on her exploration alone. She visits archives and conducts interviews with townspeople for preparation. She learns about a specific ridge where the tales are most frequently told.
